Emily (Jialu) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice spans across 3D visual art, digital fashion, animation, VR/AR, and interactive installation. Through these mediums, Emily explores the complexities of human emotion and relationships, with a particular focus on how digital media reshapes contemporary life, transforming the ways we express ourselves, construct identity, and perceive the self.
Her work examines the fluid nature of identity in the digital age, from the curated personas of social media to the emergence of virtual bodies in immersive environments. Within these shifting contexts, the idea of the “self” is continuously fragmented, reconstructed, and reimagined, forming a central thread throughout her creative practice.
While embracing the possibilities of advanced technologies, Emily maintains a deep respect for time-honored craftsmanship. She approaches these methods as complementary rather than opposing forces. Currently studying at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), Emily focues on expanding the boundaries of her practice through immersive and interdisciplinary work. Her projects seek to ask critical question, challenge perception, and create emotionally resonant experiences within the evolving landscape of contemporary art.
